Hello everyone, we are roommates renting a flat @brokeassroomies! Without a doubt, our living room is the heart of our home. Our therapist’s office kind of vibe is a cosy, calm space to wind down, hang out, and chit chat with friends after a long day at work. We started with just a black thrifted couch from a housemate’s friend, and built the room from there. Colored pillows came next to add dimension, followed by our beloved thrifted Eames chair, which made the room start to feel like a cosy therapist’s office… just needed some scented candles and wispy smoke 😆 We added green plants to both corners to balance the tones, and a wooden glass-top table in the center, perfect for snacks and coffee breaks.

We really appreciate our landlord’s open-concept taste, the living room, kitchen and dining area all flow into one another, making the space feel extra open and spacious!

We recently got a big tall leafy plant (thrifted and free!) which added depth to our very white walls

Since we’re only renting, we worked with what we had. Thankfully, our landlord has great taste. We love the modern touch of the curved wall edge, which adds depth and texture to the space. While we'd love to decorate it with art or photos, we’re keeping it bare to avoid leaving marks (even high-grade tape can be risky!) Everything pictured is thrifted, and we love how it all came together. The macrame wall piece adds a soft touch to our entrance way, and the 3 tiered shelf (found by the recycling area, cleaned and varnished) adds a woody touch which complemented the lounge chair and woody furnitures
