we made a trip to JB to check out some furniture & lighting stores — here’s our honest take on where we went 👇 
here's a fuss free breakdown of where we went, limited to selected places that we think we might get something! 
📍 big brain (danga utama) this was actually our last stop — we almost skipped it but decided to “just see see”… and it ended up being where we bought our sofa. we sat on the decision for about a week and decided to hit them up again on whatsapp (great service!), stay tuned for our review when it arrives! 
📍 boo furniture / wood colony the variety of solid wood pieces really impressed us — lots of textures and finishes to choose from. we felt that wood colony had more wood slab options but boo furniture has a lot more furniture variety in their showroom. 
📍 tampoi lighting there are many lighting and fan options here, but only a small section for philips smart lightbulbs. the service was really great, but we honestly couldn’t find anything that suited our style. many designs felt a little dated to us, and the ceiling fan prices were surprisingly comparable to singapore. btw, no photos allowed here~ ✨ bonus: DM curtains recommended by a friend — they came down for site measurement and even brought samples for us to choose from. we did end up going with them, so stay tuned for a proper review once everything is installed 👀 personal takeaway: JB can offer good value, but it really depends on what you’re looking for. go with a clear idea of your style and budget, you'll definitely find something! KEEP IN MIND to mark up the price you see with GST and delivery/levies
