We designed our living room to be open, bright, and family-friendly. The full-height cabinetry keeps everything organized and clutter-free. This open-concept layout makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids while creating an inviting space to gather, play, and dine together. It’s perfect for hosting, where guests can easily mingle between zones without feeling confined. This is our living room’s cozy corner—anchored by a comfy two-seater sofa and a spacious playmat for the kids. The playmat isn’t just for play; it cushions falls and doubles as extra seating or lounging space. Our Muji bean bags (not pictured) usually join the setup, making this spot the kids’ favorite hangout for watching TV, tumbling around, or just relaxing together. Adding fun to our living room is a slide tucked behind the sofa. One of the things I wanted in our home was a dedicated spot for our daily bags. So we built this simple pigeon hole storage just for that purpose. Each cubby gives our everyday bags a “home,” making it so much easier to grab and go — and even easier to keep the floor clutter-free. Without it, bags would end up all over the floor or cluttering random corners. We kept our TV console setup clean and minimalist. We mounted the TV against a marble-textured panel to add a soft, elegant touch. Below it, a floating console holds our soundbar and a few decor pieces for a pop of color. We also tucked our robot vacuum neatly into the side to keep the space practical and clutter-free. We designed a dedicated built-in for our Dreame robot vacuum—seamlessly concealed behind a flush cabinet door. Its minimalist finish blends effortlessly with the rest of our cabinetry, keeping visual clutter out of sight while ensuring easy access for daily cleaning. We placed the dry pantry and fridge in the living room to free up more space in the kitchen — although the kids love opening the fridge every other minute to hunt for snacks. This is my favourite little corner. I set up this dry pantry to house my kombucha brew, a selection of coffee and tea, and a few of my handmade coasters. It’s a cosy spot that brings a small moment of calm to my day — whether it’s grabbing a quick coffee, brewing a cup of tea, or just admiring the little touches that make this space feel like home. This is where I usually work from home. I installed a glass panel here to jot down important notes and reminders — like when we last charged the digital gate or washed the washing machine. This cozy spot also doubles up as an extra dining area whenever we need more space. Everything is still a work in progress. Stay tuned for our next post!
