Our Entryway: An Amalgamation Of Peranakan Tiles & Tempered Glass Gate

Welcome to our entryway! This is what greets us everyday when we come home after a long day. It’s a cozy retreat, with Peranakan tiles and LED strips embedded in the fluted panels creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The black-framed tempered glass gate beautifully complements the woody tones, while the Ficus Umbellata adds a touch of nature, making the space even more welcoming. 
Situated above our plant, our Luxus Video Doorbell provides round-the-clock surveillance, giving us unparalled peace of mind. Its motion detection technology and seamless smartphone integration keeps us informed about our doorstep activity wherever we are. Positioned to cover the entire corridor, it enhances our ability to monitor activity and deter potential theft. Additionally, its 2-way audio communication feature adds on practicality by allowing direct interaction with delivery personnel, enabling us to give specific instructions such as asking them to leave parcels at our doorstep. 
Our black-framed tempered glass gate paired with the Luxus digital lock is a perfect combination, both stylish and practical. We love how our gate perfectly synchronies with our Luxus digital lock, allowing us to unlock both the gate and front door simultaneously. The seamless fingerprint authentication and remote control via smartphone app enhance both convenience and security. This allows us to authorise access to our house wherever we are, for instance to our friendly and helpful neighbours to water our plants and feed our fish whenever we are overseas! 
To enhance aesthetics, we have wrapped our door with marble black. It harmonizes beautifully with our black-framed glass gate and provides a striking contrast to the warm woody tones in our entryway. This combination creates a sophisticated and cohesive look. Additionally, we have levelled up our porch to prevent water from entering our home, especially during routine cleaning. This helps maintain our home's interior and ensures that water doesn't cause damage or inconvenience. 
Our Ficus Umbellata is a perfect addition to our entryway. Its large, waxy, heart-shaped leaves add both whimsy and elegance, while its air-purifying qualities enhance our home's environment. Having a unit that faces the corridor ensures it is positioned in a spot with bright, indirect light and optimal air flow. It’s lovely how the terrazzo pot perfectly complements the terrazzo backdrop of our arc shelves along the entryway. Behind our glass gate stands our little alpaca "gatekeeper"—a doorstopper designed to prevent the gate from slamming shut during occasional strong winds. 
Walking into our entryway, the peranakan tiles add a vibrant, cultural touch while the fluted panels and arc shelves bring a sense of refined elegance. The herringbone vinyl would tie it all together with a classic, modern twist. Overall, it is a beautifully curated space that balances tradition and contemporary style, creating a welcoming and stylish introduction to our home. 
The view that greets us each time we step out of our humble abode 😊 The combination of warm wood tones and Peranakan tiles create a soothing and positive atmosphere that sets a great tone for our day, making each departure from home a refreshing experience. It’s amazing how design can uplift and influence our daily lives. To add on, our entryway lights are controlled by smart switches, which can be programmed to automatically turn on when we enter or exit before sunrise and after sunset. 
We love how the LED strips contribute to a cozy ambiance 🥰 
The arch and niche for footwear storage add a touch of elegance and organization to our foyer. 
Those photo frames on our arc shelves beautifully capture and celebrate our journey together as a couple. Displaying them in a prominent spot like the entryway is a wonderful way to keep those memories alive and make every day a little more special. 
We love how the fluted panels not only conceal our carpentry for storage but also enhance the aesthetic by providing a niche for displaying our photos and reed diffuser. 
It's great when functionality meets aesthetics so seamlessly! 
Hidden behind the fluted panels are our storage compartments! Who doesn’t appreciate having extra storage space? 😉 
We incorporated fluted panels to conceal our bomb shelter to maintain both functionality and aesthetics. 
The fluted panels function as a tic-tac door and can be opened fully. We’re pleased to have ample space to accommodate it along our entryway. 
We’re grateful to have found a fluted panel with the perfect shade of wood that complements our wooden Peranakan tiles beautifully. 
Closing our main door reveals additional full-height storage cabinets! 
With this extra built-in carpentry for storage, it not only enhances aesthetics but also allows us to accommodate more footwear as well as our DB box, so we never have to worry about having too many shoes!
