We got really lucky with a large kitchen/dining area. I for one really wanted an open kitchen with an island. I love that when our family and friends are over, they can sit at the dining table and I'd still be a part of the conversation from the kitchen (fomo) So, that being said, we were so happy that we could fit a 2m dining table of my dreams in the dining area. Come along as I breakdown where we got everything in our space p.s would love to know what is your must-have for a dining space :)

This was the very first render of our dining space. Being visual people, we love that our ID made renders for us after our first discussion. Because that way we can be sure of whether the furniture we wanted matched the 'theme' of the house or the vinyls. It was important the everything was cohesive in the house since it's an open concept kitchen. So heres a tip: ask for renderings of the design. We found out much later on that not all IDs would do renderings. When deciding on the lights, we wanted to have pendant lights above the living room but not have it too overwhelming. This cone-shaped pendant light from Modern Space Living is the best combination of modern and sleek. And all the lights throughout our house are all black too so its cohesive everywhere.

Whenever we have anyone ask us where our table is from or how much it is, nobody ever gets it right. Most guesses were all about $2k The hunt for the perfect dining table was so challenging. It was either too expensive or too small. On average, the tables we saw at physical stores were way out of our budget for a 2m table. I scoured the internet and found this perfect perfect table on taobao for ~$700. The dining chairs are from taobao too! I made sure to read alllll the reviews and check if the seller had a good rating before making the purchase. Cleaning Tip: We use Method's Wood For Good Daily Clean Spray on all our wood surfaces (dining table and TV console). Love that it give a slight shine to the wood after every wipe.

Now before you flame taobao for having 'cheap' and 'bad quality' items, I'll have you know that this table is so thick and sturdy. And very heavy!! It feels and looks very well made. We had to recruit extra (strong) manpower to help assemble the table. It was a 3 + 1 woman operation :')
