Our dining space is much simpler compared to other parts of the house 🤍.
Originally, we thought of an open kitchen with a dining table… but after consulting our fengshui master, we decided otherwise.
✨ She reminded us: the kitchen represents the health & wealth luck of the lady of the house — hacking the wall would mean “no backing” for the female owner. So we kept it enclosed.
To further enhance the area, she suggested hanging paintings with metal frames — fruits, or family quotes. We ended up buying these two from Taobao!
As for the table, she recommended a round one — symbolizing “圆圆满满” (completeness) and also bringing people closer together.
For lighting, she suggested bulb counts in 1,4,6,8 — but instead of a pendant light, I chose a ceiling fan with light, to solve both cooling + lighting in one go.
When we got our dining table from V Haus Living, I spotted this low cabinet and couldn’t resist adding it. It became the perfect spot for our coffee machine (though honestly, we used it daily at first… then washing it each time made us lazier 😂).
Above the cabinet, I even planned 2 double sockets — for the coffee machine, table lamp, and even hotpot nights 🔌🔥.
Our dining may be simple, but it’s truly functional and cozy for us. 🫶
