Hi all, welcome to my son's room !
Keeping this room tidy is the most difficult task ,especially since I use the same desk during the day. No matter how often I clean, it’s chaos again the moment he comes home. I just haven’t found a system that works for both of us.
Managing a child's room becomes more challenging when it overflows with vibrant and eclectic items. However, I believe in nurturing his creativity and individuality, so I refrain from imposing restrictions on colors or themes. I'm also supportive of him displaying whatever he chooses, as it fosters his sense of identity and self-expression.
Lately, I've been giving my son more toy storage space—but he's 10 now and rarely plays in the traditional sense. Instead, his play looks like creative engineering: dismantling items to build something entirely new. I love his ingenuity, but his curiosity means he’s holding onto every broken piece, from mechanical pencil springs to random parts.
Right now, I sort my son’s LEGO bricks by color and store them in an IKEA compartment system.
Oh, this is just a glimpse of his LEGO collection; there's much more to come—stay tuned for the full showcase next time! 😊
For all the broken, random pieces, I’ve been storing them in a Daiso compartment or, should I say, temporary hideout because I’m pretty sure I’ll need a bigger box soon :P
This is peak tidiness, I wish it stayed like this every day!
I'll keep experimenting until we find the system that clicks, one that respects our both needs and gives my son room to express himself.
