A sanctuary for rest thatās clear of any distractions ā thatās how we designed our master bedroom š“
That means no TV or projectors. Youāll notice that there are no fans too, because we sleep with the aircon on.
We have two built-in wardrobes at home, and this one in the MBR stores the husbandās clothes. The other one is in my study.
Even though this wardrobe is significantly bigger than mine, I didnāt want to have to tiptoe around every morning when I prepare for work ā I wanted to have my outfit dilemmas in peace. That was why I decided to house my clothes in a separate room instead.
But what most people may not know is that this wardrobe houses an entrance.
And thatās to our aircon ledge!
We didnāt think of this idea ourselves ā it came from the previous tenants. Thereās a plank on the top part of the back of the wardrobe that can be easily undrilled for the repairman to access the aircon ledge if necessary, to quote our ID. Pretty cool if you ask us, because weāve never seen this design before.
Blackout curtains were a must because the both of us are pretty sensitive to light. And after staying in a few hotels that come with blackout curtains, we knew that this would become one of our non-negotiables.
To take it a step further, we had our ID construct a pelmet to block off even more light.
Every morning, a slither of light slips through the curtains at the top ā just the right amount to signal us that itās already daytime.
