We wanted a space that is bright and airy, that is practical for a home with 3 dogs and a toddler, that has a style that is timeless (so lots of neutral and warm colours) and will last for years, while still having some personality and character. We are not big fans of built-ins so we kept the space built-in free as much as possible, except for the cabinets next to the TV, which essentially is used to conceal the wires from the electronics. We placed the chairs to face the sofa to create a more cosy and inviting space, which is perfect especially we host guests pretty often. As you enter the home, you are greeted to the entryway and then the living room. We went with different floor tiles to segregate the space. As you enter the living room, on the right you are greeted with a small coffee corner where we sometimes sit here to watch the world go by. The living room space with natural lighting. One of my favorite features of the home is the arched walls. I think it really helps to soften the space and serves as a gateway to the rest of the home. We love the concept of open shelves, because we can decorate it with pretty and interesting decor pieces that we love. With open shelves, the common concern is that it gathers dust easily. We never had this issue because these pieces are easily cleaned - we do it once every few months to maintain the space.
