Our #1 Lifesaving Home Upgrade: Ventilation Fans for Both Bathrooms ✨

Hey everyone! We want to share some of our lifesaving home purchases that our parents’ homes never had. These are small upgrades, but they make a huge difference in daily life and we highly recommend them! Top pick #1: Ventilation fans in both bathrooms! ✨ Me loves long, SUPER hot showers, and without a ventilation fan, the mirror cabinet fogs up and water drips everywhere. Just look at the picture HAHAHA!! Even on normal showers, the bathroom still gets humid. Since our carpentry is built-in and we didn’t go for a PVC vanity set, we really wanted to protect it for the long run, so managing moisture became a must. Beyond just stopping foggy mirrors, the fan makes the whole bathroom feel fresher and more comfortable to use. 
We went with a KDK model and honestly, WE LOVE IT. The other KDK models have bigger openings, which feel less private, so this one just works better for us. Our BTO windows were too small for the fan, so we had to modify the frame, yes, it cost extra, but it is so worth it. We spotted a few neighbours have bought the same fan too, so it seems to be a popular choice. Most online sources recommend turning on the fan before showering rather than after and we definitely agree on this! From our experience, using a squeegee to push water into the floor trap helps the fan dry the bathroom even faster while saving a bit of electricity. We usually leave it running for about 30 mins+ - 1 hour after showers, which keeps surfaces dry and mould-free. 
Can you see through? Haha we tried to show as much as possible, but unless someone is using binoculars, we don’t think anyone can really peek in 😂 Of course, regular maintenance is still important. The covers need to be dismantled and cleaned occasionally, otherwise dust can build up inside and reduce the efficiency and power of the ventilation fan. 
Tip: You can actually have the ventilation fan switch separate from the light switch! Make sure to let your ID or contractor know early so the wiring can be set up properly! We placed ours as the last switch, which feels more intuitive and easy to remember. Stay tuned to our next best purchase!
