I think in every renovation, the kitchen is where the most thought and money is put in altogether! Not only is the carpentry and table top configuration and options are infinite but there’s also many other things to consider like the kitchen triangle, an open or closed kitchen, the electrical and water points and so on..
So, when the mister and I finally came to a compromise of downsizing our utility to make space for an open kitchen, we go back to a whole new render again. So, here we get to see the possibility of a spacious centre offered by the L shaped counter aka peninsula versus the iconic standalone island right smack in the middle living up to its name.
Work triangle (Sink–Stove–Fridge): Ensure they are logically placed for easy movement.
Open concept or enclosed? Consider how your kitchen connects to dining or living areas.
Traffic flow: Avoid bottlenecks, especially around the fridge and sink.
Add enough power points, especially near prep areas, island, and for appliances.
Upgrade old wiring or plumbing to handle modern appliances.
How about to maximise with vertical storage, deep drawers?
