New Home, New Vision Welcome to my DIY dream space—designed, managed, and occasionally panicked over by yours truly. This renovation was a solo mission—from mood boards to paint swatches, every choice was mine (and yes, I second-guessed almost all of them!).

Decided to keep the living room free from too many built-ins—because as much as I love a custom nook, I also love changing my mind. Built-ins are beautiful, but they’re also… permanent. And while I respect commitment, I wasn’t quite ready to lock the room into one fixed layout. I wanted the flexibility to move things around, switch up the vibe, or maybe fall in love with a piece of furniture I haven’t even met yet. Plus, keeping it open gives the space room to breathe—literally and visually. There’s something about that airy, uncluttered feel that just makes the whole house calmer. So for now, it’s built-in light, vibe-heavy, and fully open to evolution. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll cave and add a sleek custom shelf—but today is not that day.

When I started this renovation, I knew I didn’t have an ID—but I did have Pinterest, a mood board obsession, and a deep commitment to not losing my mind. I highly recommend having a Colour Palette - Sticking to neutral, natural tones kept me sane and the space feeling calm, cohesive, and definitely not boring (beige done right is elite).

The kitchen was a big one. I wanted it to feel open but still functional, so I kept the palette consistent and let the materials do the talking—nothing flashy, just clean lines, warm tones, and plenty of light. No trendy cabinets I’d regret in a year. Just smart storage, natural textures, and space to breathe (and cook, of course). No designer, just vibes, flow, and a lot of coffee-fueled decisions.

One of the boldest moves I made during this reno? Knocking down walls to open up the kitchen. I didn’t just want a cooking space—I wanted the heart of the home to feel light, connected, and alive. And honestly? Best. Decision. Ever. Tearing down those walls brought in natural light and airflow, turning what used to be a closed-off corner into an open, inviting space. It flows straight into the rest of the home, making everything feel bigger and brighter—without adding a single square foot. And did I mention the countertop space? More room to prep, organize, and—let’s be real—set up my coffee machine. It’s the little things that make all the difference, and I’m already looking forward to making my morning brew in this spacious kitchen.

The service yard was a challenge—but I wasn’t about to let it stay a forgotten, boxed-off space. So, I knocked down some walls and turned it into a seamless extension of the kitchen. Now, the kitchen and service yard feel like one fluid space, opening up the entire area and letting in more light and air. Also decided to box up the pipings in the service yard with the same cabinetry. Out of sight, out of mind—plus, it adds to the clean, modern look I was going for. Now, my kitchen and service yard are basically best friends, and I couldn’t be happier with how it all came together. A little demolition, a little clever storage, and bam—an entirely new space! Stay tuned for more as I document my home Reno and styling journey, while sipping coffee…!
