As mentioned, this console used to be a collapsible cabinet. Even though I have high ceilings, the blocky/chunky/tall cabinet looked more stilted in the space. I love this low sideboard instead.
It has more storage, looks more seamless, and I can decorate the top of it! Scored this for $150 on Carousell.
My favourite shelf — my plants!
I used to have larg tropical plants but I’ve recently shifted my attention to hoyas. All my larger plants still live outside (scroll to see)! I’ll

The entryway between the front door, kitchen, living room, and bedroom.
A home for all my cutesy things. Was considering tall built ins here, but again preferred the low profile look to continue leaving the space bright and airy.
The trickiest room in my home!
I hate the look of wardrobes so I had a bed platform and dresser built in.
I chose the colour purple because it was pretty, but it turned out to be quite a struggle because the rest of my home is so warm toned. (Lesson learned: choose items that match your home’s colour palette!)
In hindsight, a brown would’ve suited the house much better! But I think I’ve found a duvet cover (good ol’ IKEA), side table, pendant lamp ($10 from Shopee VS my first $450 geometric metal one, again same issue as above!), and plants to tie everything together.
I have one bathroom with connecting doors to my bedroom and kitchen. This is her!
Appreciate the spaciousness and rain shower every time I’m in here.
Hated the existing wall tiles but DIYed the round beaded mirror (just staining and pasting wood chips on the existing white mirror that’s glued to the tiles) and added eclectic pieces to make it look more intentional.
An explosion of colour because this is where the fun happens.
As you might be able to tell from the glue marks on the top cabinetry, I had stickers and prints all over it. I decided to go for larger posters on the bottom instead but kept the top plain for, again, the airy look.
Considered wrapping/painting everything a woodier tone, but think that might make it dark in the lowest lighting area of my home, so I think it’s ok the way it is!
I disco balled my store room/bomb shelter door because it’s right on my left when I enter the house. Makes the kitchen brighter too!
Do not recommend though. It took my 16 hours because each tiny square had an individual protector that had to be peeled off. There was also dust around this door for weeks after…
A bit of a mess, keeping it real!
The custom shelving is a game-changer for organisation and storage.
S-hooks along the edges to hang items and another IKEA shelf/drawer within for more organisation.
And we’re up on the roof! Fell in love with this house for the high ceilings, sunlight, outdoor spaces, rooftop, and this pool.
My living space may be small, but this outdoor space allows me to host larger groups. I had an extra bar table up here and had 18 people over :)
