We retained our existing white BTO Hager switches around the house, which helped us save a bit on reno costs!
Β
Likewise, we also chose not to upgrade things like switch colours, mainly because we wanted to keep costs reasonable for areas that are not very noticeable in daily life. We kept most of the original HDB provided Hager switches (please test all of them out because some of them are super difficult to plug in!!! π¨), while our ID also included Legrand white switches and sockets at no extra cost so that worked out well for us!
We also did not go for smart switches because we did not feel our lifestyle needed that level of automation. They are definitely a nice upgrade, but for us it was not something we saw ourselves using often enough to justify the extra cost.
One upgrade we would absolutely recommend though? β€οΈ A dual switch in the master bedroom! Being able to control the lights from both sides of the bed feels like such a small luxury, but it is honestly one of those "hotel" conveniences that we use every single day β¨

If we ever renovate another home in the future, this is one feature we would 100% install again! π
