Welcome to this modern farmhouse HDB resale at Lor Ah Soo! In part 1 of this house tour, we feature the dining room and kitchen.

A dining table display can add an aesthetic charm and creates a welcoming atmosphere. It sets the stage for enjoyable conversations, gatherings and shared moments. We love using a large tray as a base to create this unique centre piece that can reflect our clients' personal style. 
Shades of blues and greens reign this kitchen amidst a variety of wood and brass elements which are both decorative and functional. 
Styling open kitchen shelves can add a stylish and functional element to your kitchen decor. Here are our top Five tips to help you make the most of your open shelves: 1) Consider the colour scheme - Think about the colour scheme of your kitchen and choose items that complement it. You can use a cohesive colour palette to tie everything together. 2) Mix functional and decorative items - Open shelves are not just for display. They can also be practical storage. Mix functional items like plates, glasses and cookware with decorative pieces like artwork, vases and plants. 
3) Use varied heights and shapes - Create visual interest by varying the heights and shapes of the items you place on the shelves. Tall items like glass jars or pitchers can be balanced with shorter items like bowls, books or a stack of coaster. 
4) Play with textures and materials - Mix and match different textures and materials to add depth and interest to your shelves. Consider using items made of wood, glass, ceramic and metal. 
5) Use empty space wisely - Don't overcrowd the shelves. Leave some empty space to prevent a cluttered look and to allow the eye to rest. This will make the items you display stand out more.
