Welcome to our mixed modern home!
In this series, we feature design details and custom accents from our very first post, balancing aesthetics without compromising on function.
First in the line up is our master bathroom. We wanted to hybrid the idea of a Japanese spa with slight touches of Industrial-Zen, as seen by our choice of tiles; nothing too fiery, but definitely warm undertones with subtle veining.
Our mirror vanity cabinet extends full length from the counter top to accentuate the bathroom's height with the upper portion as a casement panel housing shallow shelves.
We also have slightly deeper shelving in the top cabinet stretch to the right of this photo!
Beautiful accent bulb courtesy of Buster & Punch. This ambient lighting allows for limited dependance on the main bathroom ceiling lights, while drawing the eye upwards, again, playing up the vertical volume of this bathroom.
The highlight of every minimalist shower: the shampoo niche!
This was newly constructed by us to keep the shower neat while allowing for ample storage and easy access.
We already had a bay window that came with this property so it was the perfect Japanese Spa aesthetic for us to clad it with our rustic-toned wood tiles!
In our common bathroom, aside from our herringbone tiled flooring, another highlight was our custom pill-shaped mirror cabinet.
Rimmed with led cove lighting to provide a cosy ambience, this mirror opens up to shallow shelves, perfect for housing your shavers, toilet rolls and bottled stashes!
Along the backing of our island sink cabinet, we cladded a bronze-tinted mirror.
This strategic placement of mirror allows the floor area to feel visually amplified while adding a touch of chic and colour to our rustic interior.
