When it came to the kids' bedroom, we had one specific goal: creating a space dedicated entirely to quality sleep. Here is how we kept it functional and fuss-free.
We made a conscious choice to keep the bedroom a toy-free zone. By moving all play activities to a designated kids' area in the living room, this space remains a calm sanctuary. When the kids enter this room, they know it’s time to wind down and sleep, which has made bedtime routines much smoother.
The room came with a built-in wardrobe, and while it might not be a "designer" custom piece, we decided to retain it. It’s sturdy, functional, and provides all the storage we need. Keeping it saved us a significant amount on renovation costs and reduced unnecessary waste.
Instead of floor fans, we opted for a ceiling fan. With young, curious kids, we wanted to eliminate the risk of little fingers getting caught in fan blades or tripping over messy floor wires. It’s a safer cooling solution that provides great airflow without taking up floor space.
