We wanted to keep it simple and minimal in my study so we chose to get built in floating shelves for that seamless look using the same laminates as well. The shelves are used to display some plants as well as some of my pottery, essential oils collection. 
We opted not to built in anything else to really keep the space flexible and minimal. 
I'm happy with my standing desk as well since it gives me the option to sit or stand as I like. 
we chose vinyl flooring for our rooms for a softer feel and really like that it matches well with our doors and shelves. 
For my study we got the linen curtain in a neutral colour to keep to the same asethtic as the rest of our house.
