With the layout of a three-room flat, there’s the tricky element of where to put the dining area. Most homes we saw either hacked the storeroom or put their dining area in the kitchen.
Neither of those choices suits us, so we decided to make space for it in the living room. Our dining table was left to us by the previous owner and er decided to get a storage bay window for “booth” seating, as well as two chairs for regular use.
One advantage of this bay window is that we get lots of additional storage for rarely used items. Based on the measurements, we were only able to get one that did not come with a cushion so we turned to a customised cushion seller on Shopee to help us create this cosy and comfortable sitting area.
In terms of practicality, these are the only items we keep on the table: a box of tissues, our air con remote, diatomite coasters, toothpicks and Mr gangsagem’s aroma diffuser rocks.
We decided to install a power track here so we can charge our phones during meal times or even have steamboat when the need calls for it.
