To keep reno cost lower, we wanted to minimize carpentry as can be seen in our living room which has zero built-ins. We also do not have a false ceiling or pelmet for the curtains. I think it still looks neat because of the s-folds! Besides cost savings, we didn't want a built-in TV console or feature wall so that we may reconfigure the living room layout if desired. Buying a standalone TV console is also not cheap so we went with an easel stand instead. Overall, it fits the minimalist aesthetic but I find the TV bulky and a waste of space. Honestly, I feel like getting a TV wasn't even necessary since we hardly even use it! Haha. Maybe a projector would have been a better space saving option. And here's our best buy for the living room! A Hans J. Wegner dupe but we can't afford the real thing :') It's comfortable and add texture and warmth to the room!
