Lighting is more than just illumination. It shapes the way we experience our spaces.
From creating the perfect mood to supporting daily activities, the right lighting can transform a room.
Here are five lighting concepts we used to elevate comfort, efficiency, and style in our home.
1. Dual lights to each electrical point
Our dual-light concept allows two LED lights to operate from a single electrical point—saving on electrical installation costs while still illuminating the room well.
We chose this as we felt that it’s is easier to clean compared to track lights as well.
3. Ceiling fan with light
Our ceiling fan with integrated light is perfect for small rooms like study and common bedrooms, saving electrical points while providing both illumination and air circulation.
We also have a ceiling fan with light in our living room as well, but the light mainly serves as a backup for the main ceiling lights and is rarely used due to occasional flickering.
4. Layered Lighting
During our renovation journey, we learnt that beautiful lighting is never one-dimensional.
In our home, we combine different forms of lighting such as ceiling lights and pendants to create the perfect ambiance. The ceiling lights provide a soft, overall glow, while the pendants add focused illumination and highlight key areas. Together, they make the space feel warm, cozy, and inviting at any time of day.
5. Adjustable tone
We picked lights with adjustable tones in different areas of our home so we can set the mood—or the brightness—depending on what we’re doing.
Most of the time, we stick to the cozy 3000K glow, but it’s great to be able to switch to brighter light when we need to focus on a task or see things more clearly.
In conclusion, our home lighting has shaped our home vibes. We put thought into every detail to create a space that’s comfortable, efficient, and cozy for us.
