Lighting Hacks That'll Make You Rethink Your Whole Home

Lights that make sense - at least to me. The switches by the door turns on the 2 lights in the home. One at the door and one outside the common toilet. These 2 lights are important to me as the home can be very dark at night because there's barely any night light outside my windows. The light by the door allows me to place my items on my peninsula, while the inner light allows me to be able to walk into the home to switch on other lights without hitting myself. Yes, this is a non-smart home. 
This is the second light which I can switch on from my entrance. It can be used as my ambient light for the living area space as well. What makes sense to me is that this particular light is controlled 2 way. This light will be my last light in the living area that will be switched off right outside my bedroom before retiring for the night. Of course, this doubles up as the light outside the common bathroom for guests as well. 
Light under top hung cabinets in the kitchen allows cooking to be done at ease without too much harsh white light in the house. Sometimes, I keep this light switched on to change the mood in the home at night! 
This is an additional light I wanted despite having Steigen. Steigen does have its own 3 tone light from its system. But I wanted a cutesy light that lights up my service yard. This is creates a different mood from the light Steigen provides - a more relaxing feel. Well, light from Steigen is sending a message that laundry needs to be done. 
This is another 2-way light in the bedroom as well. This pair of lights is the commonly used set that will light up the whole room. Generally, this pair of lights is used more often as it is not directly above the bed and it can be switched off from the switches beside the bed. Reminds me of hotel settings. I no longer have to get out of bed to switch off the lights and figure out my way back in the darkness. 
This is one of my favourite lights in the house too. I love how cute the flower shade adds another touch to the home. It compliments the colour scheme of the home with the white and gold. These 2 flower lights are controlled individually instead of a pair. This was specially requested instead of switching both on and off the same time. It reminds me of how you can toggle and control individual bedside lights in hotels as well. These lights serve as reading lights or sometimes when I just wake in the dawn! 
Boxed up lights in the bathroom also creates the mood for the user. Who says we can only have pretty bathroom when we go hotels? We deserve the hotel touch in the comfort of our home. I have to say that I love my bathroom a lot. 
The ceiling light in the bathroom is a 3 toned light that still allows me to put on my makeup at ease. It is still a necessity to have some white light or warm white lights in the home. The bathroom is one such place! 
The common bathroom for guests has the same feature as the master bathroom. Our guests deserve to feel comfortable and at ease while doing nature's call out in their friend's home isn't it? The ceiling light is also a 3 toned light in any case they needed more light. Bathroom is a place where we shouldn't restrict it to warm lighting. 
This lighting makes sense to be but it is more of a want than need. This is also one way I future proof the room to a certain extent. In any case where I have guest sleeping over in this room, switching on this light in the wardrobe allows me to retrieve what I need without having to switch on the light for the entire room. This light is also somewhat sufficient to get makeup done too! 
This is how it looks like with the entrance door light and the light outside the common bathroom switched on. There is a dead space right by the master bedroom door which we decided not to have any lights there. It does not serve any purpose and there is one right outside. There will be sufficient lights throughout this area and there is no need for an additional lighting point here. Don't waste money. 
Last lighting that makes absolute sense to me. My beloved candle warmer. I love nice smelling homes and there is a stash of candles waiting for me to heat up. Sometimes, this is the only light I switch on when I'm watching TV or just having a can/glass for the night. Lighting points can be expensive but this is something you cannot add on without much hassle after moving in. Even if you do, it will not be as aesthetically nice anymore. This is something that may not surface in your actual renovation cost. Time to add this into your budget!
