As promised! Here is the post where we D.I.Y our entrance! We did this right before this year's Hari Raya Haji (2025) which is also known as Aidiladha! Hence why we input as Aidiladha Edition to showcase our house updates!
Firstly, we input the light that we bought from Shopee! The colour of the mini lamp shade can be changed to any colour! It totally did enhance the entrance look!
We also put up the foldable wall shelf based which input the other way around to create the slant curve to support the clothe of the canopy.
We used a PVC board, foam double sided tape, PVC tape, that we got from Popular to make as the main support. The letterings, the folding wall shelf mount, the cloth, we got it all from Shopee.
Total cost estimation to make the canopy: $80
Whereelse if you are going to hire people to do it for you, it will be close to $300!
The cloth, we used cloth glue to make accordingly to our door measurement.
We cut one of the unused boards and wrap it with PVC tape as so that it settles in and sit in on the part of the wall mount shelf metal base as per number 5 in the photo. This is to support the board with the cloth.
Remember that you have to measure the door's width and then buy the PVC board. We would recommend other more sturdy board like a thicker cardboard that are more steady then pvc as pvc tends to be a little more flexible when weight were put on it.
1. Display all the item to check if all is in.
2. After measuring and cut the pvc board, cut the left over board in strips.
3. Wrap it up with pvc tape and cut one of the edge.
4. Then, cut another side of the edge. As long as it sits in as shown in no.5
5. Put it in inside the folding shelf based edge and check if it fits.
6. When both edge is cut it looks like that.
7. Paste the double sided table at both edges.
8. Repeat the same for the other folding shelf based.
9. Make sure the ends are also pasted with the double sided tape for the cloth to stick.
10, 12, 13. Make sure both are of the same size.
11. Paste at the top of the wrapped pvc strips where it will be for the pvc board to paste on.
14. Tape it properly in the foldable wall mount shelf base.
15. Do the same as for the other one.

We realised that it needed extra support and so we bought another shelf support bar at a hardware store at Kovan '2 for $9.90'.
So this is to show you guys that you all have to nail it in. Recommended shorter nails than you see here.
This was right after we mount it on the wall. We were quite excited that we just snapped before we start adjusting it.
Then we realised that, it looks quite bare in the middle and so we decided to get creative and innovate.
