This is how our final kitchen looks like.
Cream, microcement, terrazzo tiles, dark walnut wood colours. Below are also some screenshots of a slide deck that we sent to our contractors during the design process. You can gain inspiration from that especially if dont want to hire an ID and want to have some idea what details to take note of.
Inspiration and mood board situation. We decided between a couple of colours and decided on this after we found our beautiful red wall tiles from JB.
Laminates options were given by our contractor, we went down to Topmix in JB to see the full size laminates also in different lightings. They gave us bigger samples which we could bring home. We were lucky that they created a new series of microcement textured laminates which worked very well for our top cabinets.
Instead of using sintered stone for backsplash as well as the counter top, we saved quite abit by using a tiled backsplash. Tiles were self sourced as we liked the matte textured look and JB gave us a few good options. Which were way cheaper to in SG.
Listing down the different kitchen items we needed and trying to figure out where everything fits in a small HDB kitchen. Carpenter will give feedback on site as to which are the standards, which areas would be squeeze, and coming up with creative and feasible solutions for your customized kitchen problem.
Come up with a few iterations to convince yourself of thw alternativea and your preferences. The more research and design done beforehand, the smoother the actual building process. Stay tuned to see the rest of our house!
