How many people did it take to fix our kitchen hood? Can you tell from this image?
Before our house handover, we tested our hood and were amazed by how powerful the suction was! We had fun testing it with tissue paper, A4 paper, and even a plastic folder - everything got sucked right up!
However, we didn't test our hob at the same time because it needed a battery that we didn't have. So we came back another day to test the stove instead, making sure each burner could switch on and reach maximum power.
Big mistake! We only discovered there was an installation issue with our hood that caused the filtered air to flow back down towards the stove instead of escaping properly.
If you look closely, you can see the flames started "dancing" when we switched on the hood😿 (ps. there's some issue with the GIF on the app, please view it via web browser for now!)
Imagine our shock when we only found out about this problem while happily cooking our very first meal at home 😱 Having rectification works done after moving in is honestly quite stressful because of all the dust! This is how we tried to protect our carpentry with protective sheets 😅
Please remember to test both your hood AND hob together during your pre-handover inspection hahah
