Hi!! Welcome to @choishouse. We're back to our first week series of our journey with Hipvan on Season 7 :) We're extremely honoured to be back and with more tips and exploration into our home and our planning/thought process. This week, we're starting off with a before-and-after series of our kitchen! We spend A LOT of time here so we figured this is the best place to start at! 
Let's start from the very beginning. This was what it looked like from the previous owner whom we bought this unit from. 
And this from the other end of the kitchen. 
The previous owner's kitchen was not what we wanted or envisaged ours to be like, so we hacked away EVERYTHING! This was how it looked in its extremely bare state. 
At this stage, our tiles were done + walls were touched up + our cement base done on both sides were also done before we could proceed. It also takes awhile for the cement to set so we started this out first. And then we started having confirmations of our carpentry layout before they could start fabrication. 
The only times we are allowed to draw on walls hehe. These were sketches that our contractors and IDs referred to, and we would make scribbles during discussions over confirming what we wanted and what we wanted to change before proceeding with actual works. 
Oh boy! This was a headache. Figuring out what appliances we wanted to put + where we were having our lighting before we had any structures was tough. We had to try and visualise what would be at which location, and whether the height would be suitable. We also redid our entire house's electrical works so those are all the wires you see dangling around. 
WE ARE GETTING THERE!! Carpentry was up!! This was such a nice sight to see. 
And our kitchen dreams were coming alive!! That solid dark brown woody laminate was everything we dreamed of and loved!! 
Our lights were also up!! And so were our kitchen backsplash and countertop :) 
Finally. This is where we're at today!! We host pretty often and also cook almost on a daily basis so finding the perfect workflow of our kitchen was absolutely key for us. 
And this is how it looks from the outside. Well, this is our before-and-after of our kitchen on our journey of how we built our kitchen. Stay close because we'll be exploring our thought-processes on how we decided on certain things of our kitchen really soon!
