We like a nice minimal look while having maximum convenience and efficiency. This is part 2 of 2 on where we’ve placed some of our power points and is how we’ve hidden them away to keep our flat looking clean and tidy.
In our kitchen, we chose a nice white Denton countertop and backsplash. We really did not want to have to spoil the aesthetic with sockets sticking out of the walls, so we hid them under or inside the cupboards:
Unfortunately there were some spaces where we really had no opportunity to hide our switches entirely! In which case, we opted for colours which would blend into the surface or at least, did not stand out too much.
At the end of the day, it was also important for us to have some spare power sockets around so we could add on more furniture or appliances in the future (eg floor lamps!)
We opted to keep power sockets where possible but minimised the impact to the aesthetic of our flat.
