How we knew our ID was the right one for us 🏠🛠️

In the weeks leading up to our house key collection, we started researching on ID firms and putting together moodboards of our ideal home designs as both my partner and I already knew that we wanted to go for a Modern Lux theme with sophisticated elements. We shortlisted a few firms that include boutique designer firms which are widely featured on social media. We scheduled and attended meetings with them, but realised that none if them left a strong impression on us. We then decided to use Qanvast, where they matched us with IDs based on what we were looking for. A few of them were quick to reach out to arrange a meeting and we met with them to discuss our plans for the home design. We then received the proposed floorplans and quotations from them after around 1-2 weeks, which we then started comparing amongst them to make a decision! 💭 
⚒️ The factors that we looked for: 1. Attitude and Service 🙂 The IDs we decided to go with were very sincere, patient and approachable. They gave us their honest opinions on what’s suitable for us, and were able to give suggestions to help us achieve what we want. We could also tell they were knowledgeable about what they do, as they were able to answer the many questions we have, otherwise they would check and get back to us. We felt comfortable speaking to them because they were not pushy and didn’t impose their ideas on us (while some of the other IDs did), but instead took time to understand our lifestyles and needs. On the day of our key collection, they also made a trip down to take a look (even though we have not signed with them yet at that point). Their proactiveness was a plus point to us 💯 Also, during the reno process, whenever we had to go shopping for things like lightings, bathroom fixtures and accessories, and curtains, they very kindly drove us to these places and accompanied us throughout. 😄 2. Responsiveness 💬 We have heard or seen many horror stories of IDs ghosting on homeowners or being very slow to respond. Luckily for us, our IDs have been very responsive and prompt whenever we have questions or check with them on anything. They also frequently provided us updates or check in with us to clarify things which we really appreciate! 👍🏻 3. Price 💰 We compared the common items in the quotations from the different IDs (e.g. wardrobe, kitchen carpentry, tiles) and noticed that some of the more “social media famous” ones were charging much higher for certain items. The itemized charges and overall quoted price by our selected ID were reasonable and they did adjust the prices for some items upon our further discussions, so we decided to go ahead! 4. Design 🎨 The design aspect was also really important as we needed the home to be functional yet aesthetic. Our IDs were able to propose a floorplan layout catered to our lifestyle needs and preferences that still worked within our budget. On the other hand, some of the other IDs had rather “fanciful” ideas, but not as practical and more costly. Also after looking at our ID’s portfolio of their past works (on Qanvast and IG), we were confident they could deliver what we want. The 3D rendering that our IDs eventually shared with us are also very much aligned with what we envisioned! 😀 Overall, we have been really pleased and satisfied with our reno journey with our IDs and the end result.
