Hello Communa friends, we were caught up with life for a bit, but we’re easing back into this warm community, and our home has evolved right along with us! We’re a couple living in a 5-room resale HDB flat, and we’re also proud cat owners.

In today’s post, we’d like to share some ideas on how to incorporate some Christmas décor even if you don’t have enough floor space for a full fledged tree, like us! Our piano and other bulky furniture take up quite a bit of our floor space, but we still love decorating for the season, especially since Christmas is such an important celebration for us as a Catholic family.
First up, we have this beautiful wreath made with super realistic faux greenery. The bright red berry stems add such a fun pop of festive color and make the whole space feel lively and welcoming. It instantly gets our home into the holiday spirit and sets a warm vibe the moment you walk in.
We tried moving it to a different spot, and it looks just as perfect against our classic Victorian white wood bedroom doors.
If you take a closer look, we’ve hung it using a discreet acrylic wreath hanger. We wanted to keep the look clean and minimal, but it would probably look gorgeous with a ribbon pasted onto the hanger too!
We especially love the personalized velvet ribbon. It adds such a charming, elegant touch and makes the wreath feel extra special and meaningful. It’s those little custom details that really make the décor feel uniquely ours.
Don’t overlook the exterior of your home! We chose a teardrop-shaped wreath for our gate, which beautifully complements narrow or vertical spaces. Its elongated form lends a timeless, old-world charm.
Since we already have a round sign on our door, the two balance each other perfectly. It brings a warm smile to our faces every time we enter and leave our home (and hopefully to anyone walking by too!).
As with our round wreath, we customized the velvet ribbon here as well. It really adds that perfect finishing touch, don’t you think?
And for all the cat pawrents out there, we know cats and Christmas trees don’t always mix! So here’s an idea for a purr-fectly safe Christmas tree alternative.
Bonus: it can stay up even after Christmas, once you pack away the “ornaments”. Plus it can be easily flat-packed, saving us a ton of storage space.
Check out our Instagram at the same handle for a reel showing how we put it all together!
We hope you’ve found some inspiration in our Christmas décor ideas. For us, Christmas is also about preparing our hearts, filling them with joy, love, and hope. So every little piece of décor is chosen with intention and meaning, helping us reflect that spirit and bring warmth into our home.
And when the season’s over, everything can be easily packed away without taking up much room, ready to bring the same festive joy back next year ♡
