house tour v1.0 — our temporary minimalist home 🏡🤍🤎

welcome to our house tour v1.0! this is a 2-bedder condo in katong, where we've been temporarily staying for the past 6 months after getting married! 🙋🏻♀️'s mum has been renting out this unit and very kindly let us stay here while waiting for our BTO to be ready. we're so thankful to have a space to call our own while renovating our BTO. living together for the past 6 months has helped us to discover our routines and habits, which played a big part in our decision making process for our reno planning. since we knew this was gonna be a temporary home, we tried to keep everything minimal (so that we have lesser things to move to our BTO), but still added a touch of decor to make the space feel more homely. we settled for Shopee stools as our dining chairs, as we didn't want to commit to all our furniture that we would eventually bring over to our BTO, in case it didn't match our final aesthetic. there's a bomb shelter at the entrance, which is perfect for displaying our travel magnet collection! the kitchen is right beside the living room. it's separated by a glass panel that allows natural light to flow through, making the space feel bigger. a closer look! :-) we displayed some jelly cats, our wedding photo decor and a cute calendar which i showcased in my june > july IG reel. i love how the jellycats sit so comfortably on the little ledge. since it's a small kitchen and we're only staying here temporarily, we decided to get modori sodam set! we love that it stacks up neatly and that it's space-saving. the colour is super pretty as well! the first bedroom is our study room! it's quite spacious and can fit our standing desks side by side (around 1.2m each). this is where we work from home and do most of our reno planning. we both got hinomi chairs because our old backs deserve proper support - happy to say that my backaches are gone, this chair is such a game changer! the second bedroom is the master bedroom! the highlight of this room is the see-through shower, which opens up the bedroom space. we didn't do much to this room, as we wanted our bedroom to be a space for rest. it fits our king-sized bed with lots of walking space around. overall, we used neutral tones for the entire house, so that they will blend in seamlessly with our japandi-themed bto. that's all for our house tour v1.0! we'll truly miss living here - glad we have this platform to document our journey. we can't wait to share more about our bto and bring you guys on our house tour v2.0, so stay tuned!
