hi everyone! we've been living here for three weeks and in this post, we will be sharing our home as it is right now — lived in but still a work in progress!
our home blends mid-century modern vibes — warm woods, clean lines, and rounded furniture — with a touch of wabi-sabi, using travertine to highlight natural textures and imperfections.
our living room still looks a little empty (i think we are missing a large carpet hahaha)
both our sofa and dining table and chairs are from comfort furniture which we really love! the sofa is really comfy and we love that it can be extended into a sofabed during movie nights.
we love that our dining furniture is customisable - we chose sintered stone for our table top with travertine design and fluted leg in walnut.
love how it looks together with our dining chair - we chose a light off white anti-scratch and waterproof frabic with walnut legs.
these items here are essentials for movie nights/netflix and chill!
- Blinds: love our roman blinds from everyday curtain which doesn't take up too much space
- Sound bar: movies are now more immersive
- TV: we chose this 65" tv as it as a matte surface as we are not a fan of glossy ones
it has always been one of our dream to have a coffee bar at home and we're glad that this turned out exactly what we wanted it to be ☕️
since moving in, we have been diligently making coffee for at least 3 days a week and we are totally enjoying the process!
moving on to the kitchen, we decided to close up our kitchen with our slim profile double leaf swing door from PD door! we requested this arch design as well.
we have been cooking frequently and this door helps to keep all the smell from going into the living room. plus, it is aesthetic too.
decided to go for Brandt's hob as opposed to Fujioh due to the suction power. as we will be cooking, we knew we needed something more powerful and we have been enjoying using their hob and hood!
plus, the Fujioh hood that we originally wanted bigger than usual hoods, making it jut out from the cabinets.
overall, everything served us well here!
our common bathroom with solid block wall and niches.
both our mirror and wall hung sink is from Rigel which we got during their anniversary sale. and we kept the toilet bowl and shower head from HDB 🤩
our simple, yet cozy MBR that we have yet to decorate but we'll work on it soon!
our bedside tables are customised from The Happy Place which was made with travertine. love the raw edges!
Opposite our bed, we have a full wall of wardrobe! this was achieved by hacking down the wall in between MBR and bedroom 2 and flushing the wardrobe to the structural beam.
even though our bedroom 2 is now slightly smaller, we do think that it is a worthwhile trade off.
one design that the mister came up with which i ended up really loving was the niche at the side - to hang our clothes for the next day.
before heading into the toilet, we are greeted by our customised door by our ID. it wasn't pocket-friendly but this is a non-negotiable for mister so we had to get it hahaha
for our MBR toilet sink, we got our ID to customise a inclined sink with sintered stone.
this and the shower area kinda gives us hotel (?) and atas vibes when using the toilet hahahaha
and that is all for our house tour! we can't wait to decorate it and make it even more cosy 🩷
