After sharing our favourite pirate filled display corner, we thought it was time to bring you into the space that fuels all our adventures (and cravings) — the kitchen. This area is where form meets function, and every corner is thoughtfully designed to make daily life smoother and calmer. And yes - while the Straw Hats hold their ground in the display case, this is where the real life meal missions happen.
This is the view we get as we walk into the kitchen from the dining area. Everything within reach, yet neatly zoned. The warm wood tones continue across the lower cabinets and floors to create a sense of flow and cohesion. And yes, that striking red appliance on the counter? That’s our steam oven. Not just for show, but easily the most hardworking buddy in our kitchen. From reheating to daily meal prep, it’s been a total game-changer. We’ll be sharing more about it in time to come, so stay tuned!
This is where we eat, chat, and occasionally get ambushed by spontaneous heart to hearts over kopi. Sitting right beside the kitchen, our dining area makes it easy to go from stove to table in seconds. Above the dry pantry, we put up a pegboard shelf that’s part functional, part sentimental. You’ll find bits and bobs that matter to us — little keepsakes, photo frames featuring our caricature, and small reminders of home. (Spot our family dogs proudly sitting up there too — because of course they deserve a spot in the house tour!) It’s a quiet little corner, but one that tells our story in its own way.
Here’s a fuller look at how everything fits together. We tucked the dishwasher neatly next to the stove, and the sink sits just to the right — making the whole workflow super intuitive. One of our favourite touches is how the overhead cabinets stretch all the way from one end of the kitchen to the other. No dust traps, no wasted space — just clean, functional design that works hard behind the scenes.
We decided to keep things seamless by using the same material for both the backsplash and the countertop, a textured, swirled finish that feels both modern and calming. Up close, you can see the soft brushstroke like patterns that add just enough visual interest without overwhelming the space. It’s easy to maintain, gentle on the eyes, and ties the whole kitchen together with a unified, minimalist look.
This is where most of the action happens, from weekday dinners to weekend bakes. We went with a warm wood and matte beige combo for a soft, timeless feel. The lighting under the cabinets was a non-negotiable. Bright enough for cooking, yet soft enough to keep the space cosy. On the counter, we keep our must haves close by: the air fryer, rice cooker, and our trusty Ninja multi-cooker, a true kitchen workhorse that’s seen everything from soups to stews and even lazy one-pot meals. Everything’s within reach but still feels tucked away thanks to the clean lines and handleless cabinetry.
So that’s our kitchen and dining space. Calm, intentional, and filled with the little tools and touches that make our house feel like home.
🧡 More spaces coming your way soon. In the meantime, may your own kitchen adventures be worthy of a Pirate King’s feast!
