Hey everyone! Weโre back to share more about our bathrooms :) The design has been kept simple, focusing on curating a calming liminal space that is easy to maintain. The colour palette of our bathrooms has also been intentionally chosen to ensure consistency with the rest of our home. With that, letโs dive right in to our bathroom tour! :) Our bathrooms were one of the spaces that we completely revamped. Here are some of the key features & decisions that we we made when curating this space! ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐-๐ถ๐ป ๐บ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ + ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐๐ผ๐บ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ โ> maximises storage (spans the entire available width) โ> internal compartments customised to our needs โ> minimises exposed surfaces > reduces cleaning โ> reduces distance between user & mirror = greater ease when using mirror - we are both myopic, so this is very important when we donโt have contact lens/spectacles on! ๐ซฃ ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐-๐ถ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ฝ โ> maximises countertop space (comes in handy when washing & drying multiple items in basin + do not have to worry about accidentally knocking items off countertop) โ> water mainly splashes on countertop instead of the floor > keeps dry floor area dry ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป โ> we have heard so many stories about how difficult maintaining a countertop basin in, and wanted to go with an under-mount basin initially. However, it was love at first sight with this basin ๐ฅน (thankfully, maintenance has been alright!) โ> it acts as a centrepiece in our minimalist bathroom! โ> it is deep and wide, which is great for washing items ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ณ-๐๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ โ> houses our shower essentials โ> hides our shower essentials from the entrance view > reduces โclutteredโ look > minimises urge to get โnice-lookingโ bottles ๐๐น๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ด๐น๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป (๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐ณ-๐ต๐ฒ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐) โ> fluted = less obvious water marks (weโre really SO glad we went ahead with fluted instead of clear glass :,)) โ> half-height = easier maintenance As you can see, the toilet ๐ฝ in our master bathroom is in a rather awkward position. Hence, many of the decisions made is related to how we designed the space to maximise its ease of use: ๐๐น๐๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐น๐ฒ๐ณ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ฝ โ> to ensure we can use our basin comfortably, we flushed the basin to the left! ๐ง๐ผ๐ถ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐๐ต โ> to maximise the space in front of the basin, we tried to choose a toilet bowl that does not protrude out as much as possible ๐ฆ๐น๐ถ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐๐ผ๐บ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ โ> there isnโt sufficient space to accommodate casement cabinet doors for our bottom cabinet (unlike our common bathroom) which we wanted to build to maximise storage > sliding doors it is! :) ๐ฆ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด & ๐๐น๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฟ > ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฟ โ> due to space constraints, we opted for swing & slide door instead of casement door. We were initially worried that we couldnโt find any design that we liked, but so thankful that we managed to find one that matches well with our home! And thatโs all for our bathroom tour! :)
