We chose this for the sleek hourglass figure it has. It is important that the light is flushed and not protruding out. This will then minimize the shadows when the light is turned on. We regretted getting the one with light for living room because with our down lights, we have never turned on the fan light at all. 
For our 3 bedrooms, we got the same KDK Airy fan. It has the same kind of light that is not protruding out. We do use the lights often, and hardly notice any shadows. 
Still contemplating whether we should install a corner fan here? Our electrician has prepared the electrical point here but till now we are undecided. It gets rather hot at the kitchen area so a fan would be useful. But then we are also worried that the corner fan will pose a danger for people because the blades would be hanging rather low due to the false ceiling. 
Will make do with our Dyson fan for now!
