Entryway Know How: How we designed our Dramatic but Practical Entryway

Before: In its original state, there was no room, upon entry, one would see the living and kitchen. We walled up the space so as to compartmentalise the kitchen and living and also add a shoe cabinet 
To the left of the entryway is the household shelter. To conceal the door, we painted the door the same color as the wall 
We replaced the original HDB provided vinyl flooring with tiles, because we wanted to be able to step into the house with our shoes and sit on our 2nd hand camelback seat to remove our shoes. 
The suspended cabinet holds our many shoes and also allows space for our loose vintage footstool gifted to use by my mother in law
