we all love a few good prints to hang up in our homes, right? so of course we had to put some in ours!

the backstory: we used to hang 50 x 70 prints in our rental like absolute rebels. since we couldn't drill holes (landlord would've k-worded us), we lived dangerously with adhesive hooks. plot twist: they actually stayed up without drama! 🕺 fast-forward to present day—we have our own place now, so we can drill into the walls like proper adults, yeah? NAURRR. we're creatures of habit and went straight back to our trusty adhesive hooks. this time though, we upgraded to 60 x 80 frames (pictured) bc go big or go home, right? they're definitely chunkier than our old ones, but hey, the packaging said they could handle it!

within an hour—DISASTER STRIKES. one frame decided to take a nosedive and literally ripped the power and data sockets clean out of the wall. thank God for small miracles because we managed to pop it right back in.

we're thinking "okay, maybe we rushed it," so we took everything down, let the hooks have their beauty sleep, then hung them back up like nothing happened. success!! or so we thought 🤐

cue the 3 am jump scare. there's this loud CRASH echoing through the dining area and—plot twist number two—one of our precious frames had gone kamikaze on the dining room skirting 😭😭😭 holy sh** indeed.

here's the kicker: we thought we were being financial geniuses spending just $15 on adhesive hooks. unfortunately, we weren't. the damage report? drilling cost us $100 (but hey, we got them to drill everything else too, so yay!). replacing the dining area skirting? another $150.

moral of the story: sometimes being cheap is expensive 🥲 make sure you hang your frames properly, invest in the right hooks, or just bite the bullet and get a professional to do it. your walls (and your 3 am sleep schedule) will thank you 🥹
