If walls define a house, doors define how we move through it, quietly shaping the mood of every space they open into. Every door in our home has its own little personality!
This hardy solid wood barn door conceals our bomb shelter and is one of the defining features of our home. With its natural wood grain and industrial track, it anchors our modern farmhouse aesthetic.
Additionally, we have ventilation slats just above the barn door that allows air to circulate while keeping it cohesive with the overall design.
This is the first door that greets us when we come home. The black steel gate with narrow gaps keeps our cat safely inside while still allowing breeze to pass through. The round wood signage softens the steel with a touch of warmth, and the crucifix above quietly reflects what our home stands for.
These classic paneled bedroom doors have a slight victorian feel, which adds a bit of character to the doors. We didn’t want them flat and plain, so they’re painted white while still letting the natural wood grain show through for some texture.
The gold handles give them a subtle modern touch, and of course, they have cat flaps so our furbaby can go in and out without us having to play doorman!
We carried the same double paneled design into our bedroom bathroom door to keep everything cohesive! So yes, the bathroom door and wardrobe laminate are exactly the same!
It’s a sliding pocket door that disappears neatly behind our wardrobe when open, creating a seamless look while saving space.
As for the common bathroom, we went with louvered bi-fold doors which is also space-saving. I love how the slats add texture and let the space breathe, and they pair so nicely with the paneled wall.
