We’re so happy with how our guest bathroom turned out! The original plan was to go with a standalone sink and cabinet, but our IDs suggested building custom cabinetry to conceal an exposed pipe — a great call that added both function and style.
Sticking with our dark, minimalist theme, we chose textured grey tiles from Hafary and paired them with a matching sintered stone. The tiles give off a relaxing, resort-like vibe which is exactly what we wanted for a spa-inspired guest experience.
Fun fact: We drove 100km to JB searching for the perfect sink, only to find it back in SG! It’s a rounded stone sink that fits perfectly with the theme. The waterdrop tap is also from SG and adds a sleek touch.
We added built-in storage below the sink and a large rectangular mirror to help brighten the space. It’s now one of our favourite spots in our home
After boxing up an exposed pipe, the custom cabinetry really pulled the space together. We love the design, texture, and colours we chose, we felt that it fits well with our dark, minimalist theme.
To keep the space fresh, we installed a KDK ventilation fan, it’s great for reducing odour and keeping things cool. We also picked out toilet accessories with a gunmetal finish to tie everything together.
We did run into a small issue after renovation, the bathroom ended up being too dark. Our original spotlight only had one bulb, which wasn’t enough. Thankfully, our lighting vendor replaced the casing to fit two bulbs, and together with the large mirror, the space is now much brighter while still keeping that cosy, moody feel.
Another favourite feature is the shower area! We got our rainshower set from JB, it’s super functional with options like a bidet, handshower, rainshower, jacuzzi mode, and even LED lighting.
While we initially wanted a built-in niche, budget constraints led us to choose a corner rack instead and it’s been great! It holds all our soaps and shampoos securely, with no issues since we moved in.
We also love our towel rack, which we bought online. It can be folded to maximise space when not in use.
Our IDs customised its placement based on our height. Right beside it are our slide-and-swing doors, which the design also helped save a lot of space. We absolutely love the matte black frame and louvre design. Practial yet minimalist looking at the same time.
Last feature of our bathroom is the shower screen.
We went for a separate dry and wet bathroom area after much considerations. Although a shower screen requires more time and effort to maintain but we love the look of a segregated area and it prevents water from splashing onto the rest of the bathroom floor and wall.
