This is our living room filled with loose furnitures and zero built ins! To continue with the colour palette of the house, we have covered the walls and ceiling in the same lime wash colour for a gentle and organic feel to the living room. We have also installed S-fold curtains at the ceiling and chose low furnitures to make the room look more spacious. We love the soft glow that the sheer curtains bring, allowing natural light to filter in while still maintaining our privacy. Our moss green checked rug in the middle of the living room instantly brings a pop of colour and adds coziness to the room. The rug is so comfortable that we sometimes end up napping on it instead of the sofa. We love setting the mood with scented candles and we've placed one on the TV console to add a cozy ambiance. The travertine base is actually a sample slab we got while sourcing materials and we have repurposed it as coasters here. Even before reno started, both of us have decided to go with a projector because we adore the clean and uncluttered look of walls (thanks to Pinterest!). It was one of the best decisions we made! It's surprising how good the image quality remains, even when projected onto a limewashed wall. After work, nothing beats relaxing in the living room and diving into our favourite shows on Netflix. A tip to make the living room feel cozy and intimate is to use lamps with warm-toned bulbs. The recessed lights and floor/table lamps we have in our home are all 3000k!
