hellooo! we are back with another kitchen related post and it's about our stove this time!
both of us are really used to a gas stove back in our parents so we wanted to stick to it! i reckon induction cookers are easier to clean - no more scrubbing around burner grates. although im really not a fan of tempered glass (cause im scared i'll drop a pan and crack it one day lol)
it was then a question of whether to get a stainless steel or tempered glass one! here are the considerations that my husband had when evaluating which material to go for!
here are the other requirements that we had while choosing our stove!
1. 60cm - 75cm wide: the stove should never be wider than the hood with 5 - 15cm of overhang for the hood
2. we wanted 3 burners and the placement of the burners matter such that our pots don't touch each other (see image above!)
3. flame failure safety device: cuts off gas supply when flame is extinguished unexpectedly
4. support for cast iron cookware
i genuinely enjoy cooking with our gas stove! since i usually cook by feel rather than precise temperatures, am not fussed about the exact temperature control that induction offers. although i never knew that we could have a hybrid of induction + gas stove until recently. my husband swears he told me that he preferred this during renovation but I have zero recollection of it LOL
what would your stove preference be?
