Building the kitchen island of our dreams

Hi guys, Welcome back! This time we are featuring our favourite part of our home! Right from the beginning, we were already set on having a kitchen island, but we wanted to have a close concept kitchen which was kind of difficult. 
Eventually, we embraced the idea of an open concept kitchen which was a great decision in hindsight cause it made our kitchen look so much spacious! 
Right behind the kitchen island, we have a dedicated coffee corner for our morning coffee. We added the cups cabinet for some cafe vibes so guests can choose their own cups when they come over for coffee. 
We also have a tall unit beside for oven and microwave because we enjoy baking. If you are considering something like us, do consider the height which the appliances are installed if not you’ll be tiptoe-ing to reach your food🤣 
We have a pretty standard configuration of kitchen, with the sink right at the end and the dishwasher beside. We opted to have an induction hob which is really a lifesaver cause it just means less cleaning! We also got a stronger hood so our house doesn’t get too oily when we cook. 
An important part of kitchen planning will be planning the electrical points. We placed our electrical points in the middle of the countertop cause we thought it might be too deep to reach for the sockets at the corner. 
We tried to utilise all the space in our house so we built the extra countertop space opposite the sink. This ended up to be a great decision cause this means we could fit it one more appliance 😅 
Finally, we highly recommend you to get a kitchen island if you have the space. We use it often for food preparations, having snacks, and it serves as a great place to gather when our guests come over.
