The service yard is a place for cleaning to happen, which lies adjacent to the guest toilet with the cabinetry purpose built to house the washing machine. My ID suggested to create a wall out of bare concrete - a nod to Brutalism, to provide some contrast to the space and generate some privacy and visual separation. Really loved how it turned out! I opted for a brushed metal finish for the blinds that were installed to match the overall grey and wood theme in the laundry area. These blinds definitely helps to provide some privacy and allow airflow into the area. I kept the area clean and spartan intentionally and didn't want to install any overhanging rack. So I opted for a foldable one. The electrical wall sockets were also sourced and selected to match the them of the laundry area. I also kept the light bare and minimal to provide a nice complement to the brutalist wall and screed walls. Artemide is one of my favourite brands for lighting. A close up view of the electrical wall sockets from this brand called Knightsbridge. They are available in a variety of metals and finishes.
