Hello again! After the previous 2 posts on reno regrets and TB buys, we wanted to share our best home investments and some of the best purchase decisions we made after staying here for 6 months! 👏

Dreame robot vacuum This was definitely a non-negotiable for us as dog owners. We didn’t want to spend too much on this since it was our first time investing in a robot vacuum, so we purchased the Dreame L10S Ultra after a lot of research — it’s an older model but has all of the functions we need and also a LiDAR sensor. This is one appliance we use almost on a daily basis because of our ever-shedding pup — it’s truly been a lifesaver and time saver, because now we don’t need to worry about furballs flying around the house and getting into everything, plus we can free up our time to do other things while the robot vacuum is working!

Sonos stereo sound system This may be a bit of a hit or miss for different lifestyles, but because we are homebodies who love cozying up with a good show, investing in a Sonos sound system was something we had in mind even in pre-reno days. We’re also huge audiophiles so we knew having a bad sound system would annoy us. No regrets purchasing our Sonos stereo set at all — we bought the Sonos Beam, Subwoofer, and 2 Eras 100s for a stereo system. These have made our Netflix watching / music listening experience so much more immersive. We also added on a Sonos Move 2 for our master to create that seamless listening experience as we move from living room to bedroom hehe.

Extendable sofa (instead of reclining) Another investment that we knew we wanted super early on was our extendable sofa from Son&Bear. I believe they were one of the first in SG to offer an electric extending sofa rather than a reclining one, so we made the purchase about a year before we moved in to our flat.

What we love is how comfy it is and how it can even be used as a day bed — needless to say it’s also been super popular with our guests, especially kids who all love a super spacious and cozy sofa.

Dishwasher This was our best investment for worry-free cooking and hosting! We love having people over to our home and that often means having a meal together. But we realised that we no longer think about washing the dishes after big groups of guests come because we can easily load and run the dishwasher without taking much time to clean up! Instead our thoughts have gone to whether we have enough utensils for everyone instead 😂

Pull down dish drying rack Do you hate the feeling of stretching your arm up to put a wet plate on a drying rack and having the leftover water flow down your arm all the way to your armpit? #iykyk lol Well having a pull-down dish drying rack solved that icky feeling for us — now we don’t have to stretch or tiptoe and risk getting wet from the dishes, but just need to pull the rack down, put the wet dishes there, and then slot the rack back in place for it to dry!

The only regret is perhaps not putting the rack adjacent to the sink — now it’s right above our sink which means we have to stop using the sink for a while in order to pull down the rack, so we usually can’t put multiple dishes onto the rack at the same time. That’s it for this post! What are your best home investments? :-)
