You know that feeling, when your work day is ending, your shoulders and lower back are aching, and you mutter to yourself, “I can’t wait to go home and lie down on my bed”? (After showering of course!) Yet you go home, and your room has too many items popping out at you. Your face mask says, “Hey! You haven’t moisturised!” The TV on your wall reminds, “You should catch up on the latest episode!” It’s over-stimulating, just a little; you have to admit it. So the way to really, truly, lepak? Keep the clutter out of sight and out of mind. Our storage bedframe from Sealy helps us keep bulky and not often used items out of view. Think winter clothes, bags and our bed vacuum. For our wardrobe, we chose to have no see-through or open elements to keep the look clean as well. This means our visitors don’t know how truly messy we can be. 😇 In the day, simply draw the curtains and let the light in (if you have a sunlight-facing window). The natural glow of the sun coupled with your cream-based room keeps it looking seamless. We may have taken it too far by opting not to have additional permanent side lamps in our bedroom 🤭 but you can choose to have something simple and calming for mood lighting. Instead, we bought two portable bluetooth speakers/baby white noise machines and use that instead. This gives us the flexibility to make changes in future, and cut costs on electrical work. Oh, and our best bedroom tip, have separate weighted blankets for a peaceful night’s sleep.
