    We knew very early on that we wanted an arch, somewhere in our future home. So we were quite lucky to have found a flat with a relatively large foyer that made a doorway arch a possibility.

    When we purchased this flat, we were unanimous in our decision not to level the entryway with the rest of the house. Setting the foyer at a lower level made it distinct from the rest of the living area, and allowed us a space to reset, before stepping into a place of rest.

    The main feature in our foyer is definitely this settee - compact, but mighty! It comes with plenty of room for at least 8 pairs of shoes, and a shallow storage area under the seat (which can be lifted up) for small items like a shoe horn and shoe polish.
