A Tale of Two Bathrooms: Terracotta Warmth and Olive Green Serenity

Our bathrooms are a reflection of two distinct moods. Our guest bathroom is a cosy haven warmed by terracotta hues, while our master bathroom is a calming retreat with olive green tiles. 
While shopping for tiles, we fell in love with these slightly textured tiles that add a beautiful dimension to the walls. To avoid the hassle of cleaning too many grout lines, we decided to use these subway tiles only on the upper half of our bathroom walls. On the bottom half, we opted for 600mm x 600mm format tiles to create a sleek, seamless look with fewer grout lines. To maximise functionality in our guest bathroom, we installed a large wall-to-wall vanity, perfect for storing all our cleaning supplies while maintaining a tidy and streamlined appearance. Other practical choices include a 0mm louvre door to prevent odour from escaping and minimise light leakage, as well as a ventilation fan to eliminate odours and prevent mould. 
We added a half-height glass wall to keep the vanity area dry. Plus, it meant less soap scum to clean off! We also chose matte gold shower fixtures, which add a nice touch of elegance and pair perfectly with the rest of the bathroom. 
For a bathroom we use daily, we decided on a more calming colour scheme. The olive green tiles create a soothing atmosphere, making it the perfect space to unwind and start the day. 
We added a full-height shower glass to define the dry and wet areas, opting to do away with a door for a more open and spacious feel. While water does occasionally escape, we keep a squeegee on hand to quickly clean up the area. 
We also added a shower niche to create a more seamless look, keeping everything neat and organised while maintaining the bathroom's clean aesthetic. 
We installed a mirror with anti-fogging and backlighting features, adding both functionality and cosy ambiance to the bathroom. With both of our bathrooms offering their own unique charm, it’s tough to choose a favourite—so we’ll leave that up to you! Which one do you like more?
