These photos were taken before the renovation started.
Since this is a resale flat and we have already shared a home tour of our current place, we thought it would be nice to bring you along for a quick before home tour. We will also share what made us choose this resale flat in the first place.
What we considered:
1. We narrowed down the estate we wanted to live in
2. Requested house viewings through platforms like the HDB Resale Portal and PropertyGuru. Picked the house viewings within our budget range.
3. Checked the condition of the unit and the view
4. Looked at accessibility to the mall, supermarket, MRT, and public transport
5. Made sure it fit our budget including grants, cash flow, and COV considerations
We viewed one 4 room flat and two 5 room flats. Yes, just three house visits before deciding this was the one. We did struggle between choosing a 4 room or 5 room flat because of resale prices, but in the end, we went with a 5 room flat based on all the factors above.
The living room was really spacious for a 5 room flat. We also viewed a 4 room flat in the same estate, but the living room felt a little small. Needless to say, we would have had to hack one room to make the living area bigger.
We decided to remove the existing carpentry, flooring, aircon, and ceiling fan in the living room. We also redid the electrical wiring and repaint the walls.
We kept the tinted windows and the power track sockets.
We are converting this room into a guest and entertainment room.
This room is smaller because part of its space was taken to extend the master bedroom and we planned to reinstate it.
We kept the parquet flooring.
