When planning our kitchen storage, workflow was the top priority — we wanted everything to feel intuitive and easy to reach, without overloading the space.
1. Beverage & Breakfast Station:
We placed this near the kitchen entrance so we don’t need to walk all the way in just to make coffee or grab a drink.
There are 3 levels of upper cabinets:
* Level 1: Daily-use items like coffee, tea, Milo, milk powder, peanut butter, and honey.
* Level 2: Extra stock of those same items.
* Level 3: Overflow, in case we stock up more than usual.
2. Cooking Zone:
Next to the beverage station is the stove area. We intentionally keep it minimal — just one pot/pan of each type to make cleaning easier. (Easier to find also)
We also skipped fancy organizers here, since we simply don’t have that much to store.
4. Appliance Cabinet (Lower Zone):
We set aside one bottom cabinet for rarely used appliances (think: once a week or less). Since they’re heavier, we preferred to store them low rather than in upper cabinets — safer and more practical.
5. Multi-use Cabinet + Medications:
On another side of the kitchen, we use this cabinet for mixed storage:
* First level: Water bottles, thermal flasks, and containers for fruits, leftovers, or meal prep
* Medications: Two closed boxes for rarely used meds — one for adults, one for kids
* A small open container holds frequently used meds and supplements for easy access
