This is our service yard. We had a narrow strip of glass panel on the shelter to allow more light in and we chose a more water-resistant laminate since it is an area that is more likely to get wet. 
We have an automated laundry rack despite having a dryer cos there are some clothes that will shrink if we toss them in. Plus, when the load is small, I rather just hang them up.

This service yard is also an outdoor kitchen for me. This steel cover hides the stove and provides an extra work surface if need be. 
The steel cover can just slide to the side when I need to use the stove. 
This is where I store all my detergents, pails , mops and to be washed clothes 
The two cardboard boxes hold the recyclables and I emptied them to the blue bin outside once a week.
