This week’s post is a quick one~ Introducing our dining area! We really loved the idea of having a breakfast nook-like corner which adds to the cafe vibe of the house. We used the same laminate as the carpentry in the kitchen for a cohesive look overall. Our friends and family always gravitate to the benches during meals, so we knew we made the right decision to have an L-shaped bench. Also, the benches open up from the top and act as storage spaces for our hotpot grill, board games and so on. Super worth the extra carpentry cost! Great find: our custom sintered stone table from comfort design is something we didn’t know we needed - zero pot coasters in this house at the moment 😅 also love the asymmetric design The highlight of the space for me is the mismatched dining chairs. Love the three chairs we chose from Ruma Home (JB) which are so well made and comfy and perfectly sturdy. Not to mention the super reasonable prices! And also a shoutout to our Akari pendant lantern lamp — the husband’s dream. We also chose a terracotta red lamp cord from HAY to add interest and colour. Think it adds a pretty unique touch to the space! The cushions were an after-thought addition to the bench area, but nonetheless a great idea to add colour, texture and comfiness, especially while having late night chats with friends here or any other non-eating activities (using laptop etc.) Our mood board — planning out the table and chairs before buying to see if they mis-match in a matching way 🤓
